Netwrix Auditor 9.5 Enables Organizations to Identify, Assess and Reduce Risks to IT Infrastructure and Data

Upgraded Netwrix Auditor improves detection of threat actors and security gaps in hybrid environments.

Irvine, CA, November 2, 2017

Netwrix Corporation, provider of a visibility platform for user behavior analysis and risk mitigation in hybrid environments, today announced the release of Netwrix Auditor 9.5, which provides customers with security intelligence to proactively reduce risk and spot attackers.

New features available in Netwrix Auditor 9.5 include:

  • Risk assessment. Organizations can identify, prioritize and bridge the gaps in security, governance and compliance best practices specific to their IT environments, so they can proactively reduce their attack surface and thereby minimize the ability of intruders and insiders to steal data or cause damage.
  • Behavior anomaly discovery. Customers can better detect rogue insiders and accounts compromised by external attackers with a single aggregated view of anomalous activity by each individual. The associated risk scores enable them to prioritize incidents so they can investigate and determine the best response.
  • Permission analysis. Customers can gain peace of mind and ensure regulatory compliance by enforcing good access hygiene in Active Directory and Windows Server. The new security intelligence helps make certain that access rights in these backbone systems are in strict accordance with the least-privilege principle to limit the reach of both human and automated attacks.
  • API-enabled integrations. Additional free, ready-to-use add-ons empower customers to streamline their incident detection and response workflows and expand visibility across their IT environments. New integrations include Linux and Unix systems.

"Organizations can't protect themselves from everything, so they must be effective at risk assessment to support conscious decisions about what they will do — and, more importantly, what they will not do — to protect themselves," stated Gartner’s report "ITScore for Risk Management", 30 July 2015, refreshed 4 November 2016.

"There are so many attack vectors to consider that organizations simply cannot protect their IT environments unless they can efficiently assess risk and promptly detect anomalous user behavior. Now, all customers, regardless of their organizational size, industry and other business specifics, have a simple way to prioritize their risk mitigation efforts. They can quickly spot security gaps and anomalous user behavior and act on them to minimize the risk of data breaches or other damage," said Michael Fimin, CEO and Co-founder of Netwrix.

Netwrix Auditor is a visibility platform for user behavior analysis and risk mitigation that enables control over changes, configurations and access in hybrid IT environments to protect data regardless of its location. The platform provides security intelligence to identify security holes, detect anomalies in user behavior and investigate threat patterns in time to prevent real damage.
