Answer In order to configure Netwrix products to use the Microsoft Office 365 for email notifications, perform the following steps:
  1. Open Microsoft Office 365 homepage.
  2. Click Options link (near the Outlook title).
  3. Click Settings for POP, IMAP and SMTP access.
  4. Copy the SMTP server name and port number (e.g., sever name: example1.outlook.com, port number: 587).
  5. Open Netwrix Auditor console -> Settings -> Email Notifications node.
  6. Click Modify button.
  7. On the SMTP settings screen, specify the Microsoft Office 365 SMTP server name and port number (see step 4).
  8. Specify your Microsoft Office 365 email address as the Sender address.
  9. Select the Use SMTP authentication checkbox, and specify your Microsoft Office 365 account credentials (usually me@microsoft.com ).
    • Note: The specified email address in the User name field must be the same email address you specified in the Sender address field.
  10. Check the “Use Secure Sockets Layer encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox, leave the “Use Implicit SSL connection mode” checkbox unchecked and click the OK button.
