What load does this tool put on the SQL servers?
|Question||What load does this tool put on the SQL servers?|
|Answer||The heaviest impact on your SQL servers would be during the initial data collection, when it will run several SQL scripts to build and store a ‘baseline’ of data against which it will compare future collections. However the development group feels even this initial collection will result in very little performance impact unless you are already running your servers at capacity.
During subsequent data collections the impact will be lower and with SQLCR running at 03.00 AM, unless you are running large jobs on the server at that point, there should be little to no effect on performance of your monitored systems. If you are running large jobs against your SQL servers off hours, we would suggest you time the Collection accordingly if possible.
