Symptoms After upgrading to Netwrix Auditor 6.5 the report subscriptions for the file server reports stopped working.
Cause Subscriptions refer to certain report templates (they are created for) by using the template file path and name.
Several of the report templates were changed (renamed and rearranged) in Netwrix Auditor 6.5 and are different from the report templates in previous versions of Netwrix Auditor. During the upgrade Netwrix Auditor replaces (by moving the old report template files to the backup folder) old report template files with a new one which affect the links between created subscriptions and report template files.
When a subscription runs on a schedule it cannot find the corresponding report template file (the subscription was created for) because it's name or location has changed.
Resolution In the current version it is not possible to change the report template in settings, so to fix the issue please do the following:

1. Recreate subscriptions which stopped working:
  1. In Netwrix Auditor, navigate to Managed Objects --> your_File_Servers_Managed_Object --> File Servers --> Subscriptions.
  2. In the right pane, click Add.
  3. Complete the Report Subscription wizard to recreate subscriptions which stopped working.
  4. Perform the steps described above for all Managed Objects that collect data on file servers individually.

NOTE:  Refer to the Netwrix Auditor Administrator's Guide for instructions to create Subscription

Also templates should be present on the report server.

2. Re-upload reports to the Report Server
Report are being uploaded to the Report Server the first time you generate them in the Netwrix Auditor. However It is recommended to re-upload reports manually so the reports which are changed in Netwrix Audior 6.5 are appeared on the SQL Report Manager portal (and became accessible via the web):

  1. In Netwrix Auditor, navigate to Managed Objects --> your_File_Servers_Managed_Object --> File Servers --> Reports.
  2. Click Upload in the Configure Reports section. You will be notified on successful operation completion.
  3. Perform the steps described above for all Managed Objects that collect data on file servers individually.
