Symptoms
  1. When starting Netwrix Auditor Administrator Console or Netwrix Auditor client, you receive the following error:
Connection Failed - 0x80040605 - Failed to process a request because the target server is unreachable.

  1. An error occurred while sending email: 0x80040605 Failed to process a request because the target server is unreachable.

  
Cause The product cannot connect to its background services.
Resolution To resolve the issue make sure that the following services are running and their startup type is set to "Automatic".
  • Netwrix Auditor Archive Service
  • Netwrix Auditor Configuration Server Service
  • Netwrix Auditor Core Service
  • Netwrix Auditor Data Collection Service
Try rebooting the server if the services cannot start.

NOTE.
Netwrix Auditor informs you if you are running out of space on a system disk where Long-Term Archive is stored by default. You will see events in the Netwrix Auditor System Health log once the free disk space starts approaching minimum level.
When the free disk space is less than 3 GB all Netwrix services will be stopped.
