New Releases: What´s New?
Have you seen what´s new? Netwrix Corporation recently released several new products that can help you manage your IT infrastructure. Take a look at Non-owner Mailbox Access Reporter 2.0, USB Blocker 3.6, the all-new Logon Reporter, Password Manager 6.0 and SharePoint Change Reporter.
The new version of Non-owner Mailbox Access Reporter is completely redesigned from scratch with advanced filtering capabilities (message-level access auditing - who read what E-mail messages, folders, sent items on behalf of someone) and resolves a critical issue that allows calendar access data to be filtered out from the reports.
Netwrix is proud to announce the release of USB Blocker 3.6. In addition to the previous endpoint security capabilities that already prevented unauthorized use of removable media via USB ports and protect against malware, the new release offers the following major features:
- Web-based console that monitors deployments and endpoint status information (USB Blocker agent status, current list of blocked and allowed devices plugged into computer, etc);
- Improved computer exclusion list (text file is no longer needed);
- Granular access control by security group (not only by user);
- Anti-tampering feature to protect the USB Blocker agent from end users trying to remove or stop it;
- Improved white list/black list option;
- Typical fixes and updates.
Logon auditing is a major priority for most organizations because it provides clear visibility into user activity and it is required by most security standards and compliance regulations. Tracking and analysis of both successful and failed (invalid) logon and logoff events across an entire network can be very complicated with built-in Active Directory tools. Netwrix Corporation has just released a new solution that will help administrators combat the issue of inadequate logon auditing.
Logon Reporter is a purpose-built product that automatically consolidates and archives all types of logon events from all Active Directory domain controllers and provides rich reporting capabilities. The product stores data in a central location and ensures that no events are lost because of log overwrites.
Netwrix recently unveiled Password Manager 6.0, a new and improved version of the distinguished tool that further simplifies effective password management. In addition to the features that already allow end users to securely manage their passwords and resolve account lockout incidents in a self-service fashion without involvement of helpdesk personnel, Password Manager 6.0 provides user interface localization with six languages available out of the box (English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Slovak and Simplified Chinese). Additional new features include:
- High availability and support for failover on cluster server installations.
- Support for large distributed environments with multiple AD sites through automatic detection of user location, ensuring that password resets and account unlocks are made on domain controllers closest to the user.
- Supports Windows 7.
- Full support for AD password policies (no more limitation with minimum password age policy).
- Customizable Logon Prompt Extension module (ability to change all labels and add customer branding).
- Typical fixes and updates.
The Netwrix SharePoint Change Reporter is a brand new solution that can be used to limit errors and unauthorized changes within all SharePoint environments. When multiple administrators are given the power to modify SharePoint settings and manipulate pieces of content on SharePoint sites, it is important for organizations to know exactly what changed and how it was changed, and the new product promotes awareness by reporting on all changes. This freeware tool sends automated daily reports that highlight all changes made to SharePoint configurations, notifying SharePoint administrators every time an event occurred with detailed change information, such as what changed, as well as both the before and after values of each change. By monitoring such changes, the Netwrix solution improves internal governance and catches unauthorized changes to your SharePoint hosting system.
Coming Soon: In the Works
Netwrix is excited to announce a new product release coming soon to its line of IT solutions. In the works is Exchange Mail Archiver, a solution that will facilitate e-Discovery.
E-Discovery is a process that all organizations must be prepared for, because complete history of communication can be requested by court order at any time and failure to supply it can result in huge fines and lost litigations. Netwrix Exchange Mail Archiver will save all incoming and outgoing messages and provide extensive search and export capabilities (e.g. find all e-mails sent and received by John Smith between April 1, 2009 and May 30, 2009).
