Netwrix Change Reporter named excellent at doing what it is intended to do!
Netwrix Auditing Platform Architecture
File server auditing is a key requirement for organizations that rely on critical file servers or storage devices to store documents and network applications. Inappropriate access and accidental changes to files, folder structure, permissions, file shares, and other objects can significantly impact your users and infrastructure causing loss or exposure of sensitive data, security threats and Access Governance failures. Native file system auditing lacks many important features and doesn't have reporting capabilities (download Summary: Limitations of Native Tools to learn more).
Powered by AuditAssurance technology, Netwrix File Server Change Reporter audits and reports file server changes and access events. The product generates reports on changes and access to file servers, including changes and access attempts to files, folders, shares, and permissions.
The product is available in Freeware and Enterprise editions. The Enterprise edition provides additional information about who made the change or who accessed what and when it occurred, including detailed information about permission changes.
The product can be installed separately, but also is available as a part of Netwrix Auditor that automates auditing of the entire IT infrastructure.
